Kosovo’s acting president, Albulena Haxhiu, formally dismissed seven ethnic Serb prosecutors on Tuesday, ending a process that had remained unresolved since their resignations in 2022.
They left during a mass walkout by Serb officials from the police, courts and other institutions in northern Kosovo.
The walkout protested a government decision to replace vehicle plates issued by Serbia.
The decrees followed a decision by Kosovo’s prosecution oversight body to reject requests from former Serb prosecutors and support staff seeking to return.
Serb judges who also resigned are still waiting for a decision on their requests to rejoin the justice system.
