European Parliament warns Serbia it must change to join European Union

The European Parliament has told Serbia it will not be allowed to join the European Union unless it changes its laws and ends its political crisis.

In a message on social media, European lawmakers said Serbia must clean up its courts, fight corruption, and hold free and fair elections.

The parliament stressed that Serbia must also improve relations with Kosovo before it can join the bloc.

Lawmakers warned that getting into the European Union depends on real actions rather than political promises.
