Waiting times fall for major hospital tests

Albania’s Health Ministry says waiting times for CT scans, MRI scans and coronary angiography fell during the first half of 2026.

The average wait for a CT scan dropped to 7.8 days, from 24.3 days in 2025.

MRI waiting times fell to 72.3 days from 80.3 days.

The largest improvement was in coronary angiography, where the average wait dropped to 46 days from 111 days.

The ministry linked the decline to increased capacity, better organisation and more efficient use of health services.
