Special forces school planned with Israeli support

Albania plans to open a national special forces school with training support from Israel, Prime Minister Edi Rama said.

Rama announced the plan during the opening ceremony of the National Flight School. He said talks are under way with Israeli partners on training, education and certification for special forces.

The school would also be open to cadets from allied countries in the region, starting with Kosovo.

Rama said the special forces school and the new flight school are part of a wider effort to upgrade Albania’s defence training system.
