AI procurement system could be tested next year, PM says

The government is preparing an artificial intelligence system for public tenders, with a first test expected next year and possible use from 2028.

Prime Minister Edi Rama announced the plan during Public Administration Week. He said the project is being developed with several major countries.

Rama linked the system to the fight against corruption in services such as health and education.

He said online services had removed queues for documents and made it easier for Albanians abroad to get state services.

Rama also singled out the property cadastre as the next problem to fix, saying the government is preparing a new phase to clear long-running problems with property records.
