Every monitored Albanian city breaches daytime noise limit

All 13 Albanian cities monitored in 2025 exceeded the daytime noise limit, while 11 also breached the night-time limit.

Tirana recorded the highest daytime average, at just over 63 decibels. Vlora was the loudest city at night, averaging 53.6 decibels against a limit of 45.

Only Lezha and Përmet stayed within the night-time threshold.

The National Environment Agency identified road traffic as the main source of noise, with bars adding to levels after dark. Albania’s heavy reliance on road transport leaves urban areas exposed to persistent traffic noise.
