Opposition supports Kushner-linked tourism projects

Albania’s main opposition leader Sali Berisha says his party supports foreign investment in the disputed tourism projects linked to Jared Kushner.

Berisha said the Democratic Party backed the planned development near Zvërnec, even though the issue had become a national and international dispute.

He said he had concerns that Prime Minister Edi Rama could be using the project to build political influence, but argued that Albania’s national interest came first.

Berisha also defended the planned development on Sazan island.

He said Sazan was public land, while the Zvërnec project was on private land, and said both investments should go ahead if nature and property rights were protected.
