Albania to close first EU negotiation chapters on July 14

Albania will close its first three EU negotiation chapters at an intergovernmental conference in Brussels on July 14, Prime Minister Edi Rama said.

Rama said the meeting will be held at the Council of the European Union.

He announced the date in a social media post, rejecting opposition claims that Albania’s EU negotiations had been blocked.

The conference marks the next formal step in Albania’s accession talks with the European Union.
