England beat France 6-4 on Saturday to win third place at the World Cup, marking their best tournament finish since 1966.
England led 4-0 at halftime after goals from Declan Rice, Ezri Konsa, and two from Bukayo Saka.
France controlled the second half. Kylian Mbappé scored twice and Bradley Barcola added one goal to close the gap.
Mbappé’s two goals made him the top scorer in World Cup history. He now has 22 total goals, passing Argentina's Lionel Messi.
Saka scored his third goal late in the game. Ousmane Dembélé scored for France in injury time, but Jude Bellingham scored in the 98th minute to secure the 6-4 win.
Bellingham's final strike was his seventh of the tournament, setting a new record for an English player at a single World Cup.
