Greece cuts diesel prices by 15 cents in August

Greece will cut diesel prices by 15 euro cents a litre throughout August.

The government will pay for an extra 10-cent reduction. Oil refineries already fund a five-cent cut.

The measure will cost the state €30 million. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said it would lower transport costs and help contain price rises.

A separate 10-cent cut on petrol will remain in place.

The government announced the move as tensions in the Middle East raised new concerns over global fuel prices.
