Fifteen new companies open each day

Albania registered 2,734 new companies between January 1 and July 1, an average of about 15 a day.

By July 1, 2,702 remained active and 30 had been removed from the business register.

Nearly all were limited liability companies.

Domestic investors opened 2,022 of the new companies. Italian investors opened 272, followed by investors from Kosovo with 172 and Turkey with 69.

The figures record company registrations. They do not show how many jobs the businesses created, how much they invested or how long they remained in operation.
