Two killed in Seattle festival shooting

Two people were killed and several others wounded when gunfire broke out at a major food festival in Seattle on Sunday evening.

The shooting happened at the Seattle Center during the three-day Bite of Seattle event. A two-year-old child was among those injured.

Police arrested one suspect. The motive remains unclear.

One woman was taken to hospital in critical condition, while other victims suffered gunshot wounds to the arms, legs and abdomen.

The shooting sent crowds running from the festival area and forced the city’s monorail service to shut for the rest of the day.
