Six in ten Albanians want the country to reduce the number of municipalities, according to a nationwide poll commissioned by JAVANEWS.
The survey found that 34.5% wanted more municipalities, while 5.5% were undecided.
The poll covered 1,360 adults and had a reported margin of error of 2.8 percentage points.
Support for fewer municipalities was similar across regions and demographic groups.
The main difference was political. Most supporters of the governing Socialist Party wanted fewer municipalities, while most opposition voters wanted more.
