2,599 vulnerable people find jobs through state programmes

More than 2,500 people from vulnerable groups found work through Albania’s public employment programmes in the first half of 2026.

Official figures show 1,316 of the 2,599 people placed in jobs had been receiving financial assistance, making welfare recipients the largest group.

Another 937 were members of Albania’s Roma and Balkan Egyptian communities, while 346 were people with disabilities.

The National Employment and Skills Agency said the placements came through job-matching services, vocational training and incentives offered to employers.

However, the agency did not publish details on wages, contract length or how many people remained in work after being hired.
