Rama tells party to focus on daily problems

Prime Minister Edi Rama has admitted that the Socialist government’s record of roads, reforms and economic growth no longer guarantees public support.

Addressing party officials after more than 50 days of protests over a development project in Zvërnec, Rama said citizens now judge the government through their own daily experience, not only through official figures.

He cited people waiting before dawn for treatment at a public clinic as an example of why completed projects may no longer be enough.

“We had the facts; people had the experience,” Rama said, telling Socialists that the protesters were not ungrateful but were demanding higher standards.
