Socialists to propose new municipal boundaries

Albania’s governing Socialists plan to submit a new map of municipal boundaries before the current parliamentary session ends, Euronews reported.

The party will act through its own MPs after a special parliamentary commission failed to reach agreement with the opposition.

Municipal councils and mayors will have 60 days to give their views before parliament considers the changes.

The government majority aims to approve the new territorial division by early October.
