Rama to meet Macron in Paris

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama is in France for talks with President Emmanuel Macron.

The meeting is expected to take place at the Élysée Palace in Paris at around 1pm.

No full agenda has been released.

The talks are expected to focus on Albania’s path to EU membership and French investment.

The visit comes days after the European Parliament backed its latest progress report on Albania.

Albania wants to join the European Union by 2030 and close accession talks by 2027.

European Parliament rapporteur Andreas Schieder said more than 90% of Albanians support EU membership.
