Court keeps 25 properties frozen in case involving former PM’s family

An Albanian appeals court has kept 25 properties frozen in a case involving former prime minister Sali Berisha’s daughter and son-in-law.

The court rejected an attempt by Argita Berisha and Jamarbër Malltezi to recover the assets.

SPAK, Albania’s special prosecution office, seized the properties during its investigation into the privatisation of the former Partizani sports complex and later transactions linked to the land.

The Supreme Court had already upheld the seizure.

The assets will remain frozen while the case continues.
