Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha accused protesters calling for his arrest of acting on behalf of Prime Minister Edi Rama’s government.
Berisha spoke after appearing at SPAK, Albania’s anti-corruption prosecution office, under a reporting requirement linked to the Partizani case.
For 35 days, protesters have chanted “Berisha to prison” during demonstrations.
Berisha called them a “fake opposition” and said they were using the protest to attack him. He said his presence at protests strengthens the opposition.
