More cars registered in June after spring slowdown

irst-time vehicle registrations in Albania rose again in June after slowing in April and May, reaching the highest monthly level so far this year.

Official data show 9,915 vehicles were registered for the first time in June. Nearly 49,000 were registered in the first half of 2026, up 3% from a year earlier.

Most of the growth is coming from Asian markets. South Korea and China supplied 42% of first-time registrations in the first half of the year, ahead of traditional markets such as Germany and Italy.

South Korea remained the top source, while China’s share was driven mainly by demand for electric cars.

Electric car registrations fell in June to their lowest monthly level this year, but the first-half total was still more than three times higher than a year earlier.

Volkswagen remained the most registered brand, followed by Mercedes-Benz and Audi. China’s BYD rose to fourth place.
