France knocks Morocco out of World Cup

France beat Morocco 2-0 in their World Cup quarterfinal, ending Morocco’s run and moving into the semifinals.

Morocco had reached the last eight after beating Canada and knocking out the Netherlands on penalties, but France stopped the run with a controlled win.

The result sends France into a semifinal against the winner of Spain and Belgium.
