NATO plans to reduce its peacekeeping force in Kosovo to between 3,000 and 3,500 troops, down from about 4,700 now.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said the move reflected an improvement in Kosovo’s security situation over the past year.
He called it “good news for Kosovo”.
Rutte said KFOR would return to the level it had before 2023, when NATO increased rotations after tensions in northern Kosovo.
He said the mission would remain focused on its core task of keeping security and stability.
