Anti-Albanian posters in Serbia prompt call for investigation

The Movement of Free Citizens said one of the posters was placed outside a bakery owned by an Albanian.

The party said the posters directly targeted people because of their ethnicity and could put them at risk of harassment or violence.

According to the party, the posters referred to Gazimestan and used an ethnic offensive term for Albanians.

The group called on authorities to find out who made and posted the material and whether the case amounts to incitement of ethnic hatred.

The posters appeared after Kosovo police detained dozens of people during Vidovdan commemorations at Gazimestan on June 28. Most were later fined, expelled and banned from entering Kosovo for three years over nationalist chants and gestures.
