Fuel price board shut down

Albania has shut down the board created to monitor fuel prices during market turmoil.

Economy Minister Delina Ibrahimaj said the government ended the board after fuel prices fell for more than two weeks and uncertainty in the Middle East eased.

The board was set up to follow sharp changes in fuel prices and respond when the market was unstable.

Ibrahimaj said the special measure was no longer needed, but added that the government would keep monitoring daily price movements.

The decision ends an emergency tool used to manage the impact of fuel price swings on consumers and businesses.
