Albanian lawmakers have told the central bank to keep a close eye on the exchange rate and move its work closer to European Union rules.
Parliament’s Economy and Finance Committee made 11 recommendations to the Bank of Albania for 2026.
Committee chair Milva Ekonomi said Albania still has a deep trade problem, with imports and exports out of balance.
She also agreed with opposition MPs that the exchange rate should remain a priority.
Lawmakers also discussed recommendations for Albania’s Financial Supervisory Authority.
The authority regulates parts of the financial system outside the central bank, including insurance and some investment markets.
