Tirana prepares for Kanye West concert expected to draw 60,000

Tirana is preparing for up to 60,000 people at a Kanye West concert on July 11, officials said.

Ticket holders are expected from about 80 countries.

Tourism, Culture and Sports Minister Blendi Gonxhja said about 3,500 workers have been involved in preparations, with crews working day and night on the stadium setup.

Prime Minister Edi Rama said the concert is being organized by private partners from Albania, Germany and Turkey. He said the state is helping with security and logistics.

Officials said the event is meant to bring more large international concerts to Tirana.
