Culture plan aims to give Albania bigger regional role

Albania has set out a new culture strategy aimed at giving the country a bigger role in the region by 2030.

The 2026-2030 plan was presented by Tourism, Culture and Sport Minister Blendi Gonxhja.

It aims to use culture not only for heritage and identity, but also for economic growth and Albania’s EU path.

The government says the plan was drafted with artists, experts, institutions and cultural groups.

Gonxhja said EU integration was not only about laws and technical reforms, but also about values and the way society works.
