Trump accuses China of data theft

Donald Trump has accused China of committing the largest theft of voter data in American history.

In a national television address, the US president claimed Beijing illegally stole 220 million personal files during the 2020 election.

However, official intelligence reports released by the White House show no proof that any foreign power actually changed the voting results.

Mr Trump is now using these claims to urge Congress to pass strict new laws restricting postal voting.

Major TV networks refused to broadcast his speech live, prompting him to threaten their broadcasting licences ahead of the upcoming US midterm elections this year.
