Russian strikes kill at least 13 in Kyiv

Russian missile and drone strikes killed at least 13 people and injured 50 others in Kyiv overnight, Ukrainian city authorities said on Thursday.

Officials said residential buildings were hit directly, with rescue teams searching rubble for survivors and bodies. Fires and damage were reported across several districts of the Ukrainian capital.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said the city came under ballistic missile and drone attack and urged residents to stay in shelters. Ukraine’s emergency service said 570 rescuers and more than 125 vehicles were deployed.

Russia said it had targeted military industry, energy and military airfield infrastructure. Ukraine says it does not target civilians in Russia.
