Amnesty accuses Israel of West Bank ethnic cleansing

Amnesty International has accused Israel of carrying out a systematic campaign of ethnic cleansing against Palestinian Bedouin and herding communities in the occupied West Bank.

The rights group says Israeli authorities are using forced displacement, demolitions and settlement expansion to push Palestinians out of Area C, which remains under full Israeli control.

Amnesty says land is first reclassified as state land, military zones, nature reserves or archaeological sites, before homes and structures are demolished.

It says the policy is not only driven by settler violence, but backed by the state.

Israel has rejected similar accusations in the past.

Amnesty says nearly 3,000 Palestinians were forcibly displaced in Area C between 2023 and 2025.
