Israeli strikes kill eight in Gaza City

At least eight people have been killed and 15 wounded in Israeli air strikes on Gaza City, according to Palestinian civil defence officials.

They said five people were killed when an apartment was hit in the north-west of the city.

Two others were killed in a strike in south-west Gaza City, and another person died when a house was bombed in the Shati refugee camp.

The strikes come despite a ceasefire announced in October 2025 after two years of war.

Gaza’s Hamas-run health ministry says more than 900 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire began.

The second phase of the deal, including Hamas disarmament and an Israeli withdrawal, has made no progress.
