Albania's opposition has accused the government of using excessive force against protesters opposing a planned tourism development on the country's southern coast.
The dispute dominated parliament on Thursday, a day after demonstrators gathered in Tirana to oppose the project.
The government rejected the criticism and said the investment would go ahead, arguing it is important for the country's tourism industry and economic growth.
Opponents of the project say it could damage a sensitive coastal area and have pledged to continue protesting.
