Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey is using its channels with Russia to push for peace in Ukraine and is ready to help ease tensions over Iran and the Strait of Hormuz.

Erdogan made the remarks as he opened the second day of the NATO summit in Ankara.

He said he supported U.S. President Donald Trump’s efforts to end the Iran crisis through an agreement and said Turkey was prepared to help secure Hormuz.
