Google steps in over fake reviews in Albania

Tech giant Google is defending businesses in Albania after a coordinated attack using fake online reviews.

In a message to state police, the company says it has activated new defenses on Google Maps and is investigating the accounts responsible.

A massive wave of fake negative ratings recently targeted the country's tourism industry. Google has already started deleting the fake comments and restoring authentic scores.
