North Macedonia brings in strict new fuel laws

North Macedonia is introducing strict new rules on fuel to clean up its energy market and protect drivers.

The government has approved laws to ban low-quality petrol and diesel from the local market. Energy officials say the plan forces all oil companies to follow the exact same standards, cutting down on market abuse and cheating.

Energy Minister Sanja Bozhinovska called the move a major reform. The changes replace guidelines that had been in place for nearly nineteen years, which officials say were completely outdated.
