Albanian protesters gather outside EU offices in Brussels

Dozens of Albanians have gathered near European Union offices in Brussels in support of protests in Tirana against a disputed coastal development.

The protests began after footage showed a demonstrator being dragged by private security guards near the project site in Zvërnec.

The company behind the project has said it plans to invest more than €4bn in the area.

Images from Brussels showed adults and children carrying Albanian flags and protest banners.

Similar rallies have also been held in other Albanian communities abroad, as anger over the project spreads beyond the country.
