Voters in Kosovo are choosing a new parliament in the country’s third election in 16 months.
Polling stations opened at 07:00 and are due to close at 19:00.
Twenty-three parties and three coalitions are competing for 120 seats in parliament, including 20 reserved for minority communities.
More than two million people are eligible to vote, including about 130,000 citizens abroad.
Police and more than 100 prosecutors have been deployed to protect the vote.
The election follows the failure of parliament to elect a new president after Vjosa Osmani’s mandate ended.
Analysts warn that without a deal between parties, Kosovo could face another political deadlock.
