Albania to begin building military drones, vehicles and launch a defence industry to support its army and exports.

TIRANA, April 18 (TemA) – Albania to launch domestic defence industry for army and exports
Albania has approved a new defence industry project that will build production centres for military equipment, including drones and vehicles, to supply its armed forces and foreign buyers.
The prime minister announced the initiative during a visit to the planned site in Rubik. He said the investment will boost national defence, create jobs, and strengthen the economy.
The new facilities will focus on high-tech defence production, including intelligent drones. The government says the project is part of a long-term plan that began after the war in Ukraine.
The country will also build a new air force pilot academy and modernize its naval repair industry. Military vehicles produced in Albania will also be sold abroad.
The government plans to use unused army assets and land for this development, including for tourism or other public projects if not needed by the military.
