Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has told the Ukraine Recovery Conference that reconstruction cannot wait until Russia’s war is over.
The conference brings together governments, international lenders, businesses and civil society groups to raise support for Ukraine’s long-term recovery.
Rama said Ukraine was already rebuilding while defending itself.
He linked Ukraine’s reconstruction with the European integration of the Western Balkans, describing both as part of Europe’s future security.
Rama called rebuilding Ukraine “strategy”, not charity.
He said the aim was not only to repair what Russia had destroyed, but to build a democratic, modern and secure Ukraine.
Europe, he added, must help rebuild Ukraine’s future.
