The Albanian government will abolish its strategic investment law, Prime Minister Edi Rama announced today in Brussels.
Speaking as the country closed its first European Union membership chapters, he said lawmakers are drafting replacement rules to align with European standards.
However, the government will retain a separate law on protected areas, describing it as landmark environmental legislation that already meets EU benchmarks.
Authorities plan only minor adjustments to complete European alignment, despite weeks of public demonstrations over the measure.
