Foreign Ministry condemns protesters for defacing Israeli embassy flag

Albania has condemned masked protesters who removed and defaced the Israeli embassy flag during a protest in Tirana.

The Foreign Ministry called the act a display of hatred and intolerance.

It said the incident had nothing to do with free speech or the right to peaceful protest.

The ministry expressed solidarity with Israel’s embassy and said Albania remained committed to protecting diplomatic missions.

It also said violence, intimidation and hate speech had no place in a democratic society.
