Spain beats Argentina 1-0 to win World Cup

Spain won its second World Cup title, beating defending champion Argentina 1-0 in extra time.

Ferran Torres scored the winning goal in the 106th minute. Spain controlled the entire match, while a disappointing Argentina failed to record a single shot on target in over 120 minutes of play.

Spanish players repeatedly tested Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez during regular time and had an earlier goal by Nico Williams ruled out.

The victory strips Argentina of its world title and crowns a dominant run for Spain, which also won the Euro 2024 championship.
