Norway, France and Mexico reach World Cup last 16

Norway reached the last 16 of the World Cup after beating Côte d’Ivoire 2-1 in the latest round of knockout matches.

Erling Haaland scored the late winner after Amad Diallo had brought Côte d’Ivoire level in the second half. Norway will face Brazil in the next round.

France also advanced with a 3-0 win over Sweden, keeping their tournament run on track with a controlled knockout performance.

Mexico completed the day’s results by beating Ecuador 2-0 in Mexico City, sending the home side into the last 16.

The results mean Norway, France and Mexico all move on as the first knockout round continues.
