Belgrade, September 10, 2024 – Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has announced he will reveal Serbia's demands within 72 hours following a meeting with the EU’s Special Representative for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajčak. This announcement comes amid ongoing tensions and what Vučić considers recent attacks on Serbs in northern Kosovo.
Vučić stated that his forthcoming address will focus on issues the international community has not yet resolved and outline Serbia’s objectives. He expressed frustration over the slow progress and reaffirmed Serbia’s readiness for dialogue, despite current difficulties.
Lajčak, who has been working on the Kosovo-Serbia talks, did not speak to the media after the meeting. However, he confirmed that Serbia has retracted its letter from last year, which raised concerns about the implementation of the normalization agreement between Kosovo and Serbia.
The dialogue, mediated by the EU since 2011, has seen several agreements, but many have yet to be fully implemented. The situation remains complex, with ongoing efforts to resolve disputes between the two sides.
