Serbia is likely to hold parliamentary elections before a separate presidential vote, President Aleksandar Vučić said, after more than a year of anti-government protests.
Vučić said the timetable would be decided in August or September, with voting possible in October or November.
The protests began after a railway station canopy collapsed in Novi Sad in November 2024, killing 16 people. Protesters say the disaster exposed corruption and poor oversight of state projects. The government denies this.
His ruling Serbian Progressive Party remains the strongest party in polls, but a student-backed list could emerge as its main challenger.
