President Osmani says Kosovo has restored 20 recognitions

Kosovo's president Vjosa Osmani says the country has restored diplomatic recognition from countries that Serbia claimed had withdrawn support.

In a TV interview, Osmani said Kosovo reconfirmed recognition from about 20 states, after what she described as years of quiet diplomatic work. She said those countries could have drifted away without active engagement.

Osmani also said Kosovo secured four new recognitions this year, with more possible in the coming months.

Serbia has long argued that countries are reversing recognition of Kosovo, which declared independence in 2008. Pristina disputes that claim and says its international position is holding.
