Kosovo's LVV enters North Macedonia's political arena, setting

Kosovo's ruling party, the Vetëvendosje Movement (LVV), has announced its official participation in the upcoming parliamentary elections in North Macedonia, marking a significant development in regional politics. The LVV will run with three candidates as part of the Albanian opposition list.

Among the candidates representing LVV is Bekim Qoku, an advisor to Kosovo's Prime Minister Albin Kurti on North Macedonian affairs.

Notably, the Albanian opposition coalition also aims to make history by electing the first ethnic Albanian president in North Macedonia's presidential elections, signaling a shift in political dynamics within the country.

The decision of LVV to participate in North Macedonia's elections has drawn attention from regional leaders, including Ali Ahmeti, the leader of the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) in North Macedonia. Ahmeti views LVV's involvement as a precedent that could pave the way for other countries in the region, such as Bulgaria and Serbia, to establish their political presence in North Macedonia.
