Men still earn more than women

Men in Albania still earn more than women in most jobs, even though the gender pay gap narrowed in 2025.

The average gross monthly wage reached about 84,000 leks last year.

Men earned about 86,000 leks a month on average, while women earned about 82,000 leks.

The gap fell to around 4.5%, the lowest level in recent years. A few years ago, men earned about 10% to 11% more than women.

Men still had higher pay in most professions.

Women earned more only in a small number of jobs, mainly in senior management and some administrative and service roles.

The biggest gap was in agriculture, where men earned almost twice as much as women.
