The first round of talks between the United States and Iran has ended in Switzerland after about 80 minutes, Iranian media reported.
The meeting took place in Bürgenstock, with both delegations later breaking off for internal consultations.
No details were released on any agreement or next steps.
Before the talks, US Vice President JD Vance said President Donald Trump had given the American team full authority to seek a diplomatic solution.
Vance said Washington wanted a wider regional ceasefire, including keeping the truce in Lebanon in place.
Iran made no statement after the meeting.
Tehran has said any deal with the US must be linked to peace in Lebanon and Israel’s respect for the ceasefire.
Iranian media also reported that the Strait of Hormuz remains closed to shipping.
