Andy Burnham has been confirmed as the new leader of Britain's ruling Labour Party, replacing Keir Starmer.
Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood announced the leadership results this Friday ahead of Mr Burnham's first official speech.
She confirmed he was the only candidate to pass the required threshold after gathering 379 nominations.
Mr Burnham also secured unanimous backing from party affiliates, collecting 23 nominations across all eleven trade unions.
With no other qualified challengers on the ballot, party officials formally declared him elected uncontested.
